The debut Cowboy Dave recording, a six-song EP, was released on Slackjaw Records in 2009. With the help and guidance of Emmy-nominated producer Greg Kincheloe, the album features an array of gritty, country-flavored cowbilly songs penned by Wilson. The album was recorded at Fuse Studios, Fine Tone Recording, Clamhead Studios, Trax Studio and Cowboy Dave’s basement.

Musicians on the album include Cowboy Dave Wilson (vocals and acoustic guitar), Col. J.D. Wilkes (of the Legendary Shack*Shakers), who plays the villain in the Cowboy Dave Theme Song, Steve “Fuzzy” Blazek (pedal and lap steel), Tony Hillhouse (drums), Charlie Johnson (upright bass), Greg Kincheloe (banjo), Tony Robertson (electric guitar), Lern Tilton (harmony vocals) and Shaun Sparks (harmony vocals).
